What Is So Great About EPCOT?

EPCOT is a unique theme park in that it combines thrilling rides, mouthwatering food, captivating shows, educational experiences, technological innovation, and cultural immersion all in one park.

And this cultural immersion is my favorite part of EPCOT and why I love it so much! This cultural immersion takes part in the World Showcase.

The World Showcase is a HUGE area in EPCOT, where you can stroll through 11 different country pavilions. It’s like taking a mini trip around the world!

You can savor delicious cuisine, shop for authentic souvenirs, and even interact with people from those countries. It’s a fantastic way to learn about different cultures without leaving the United States.

Another incredible aspect of EPCOT is its focus on innovation and technology. In EPCOT, you’ll find attractions that showcase the latest advancements in science, space exploration, and sustainability.

EPCOT is also known for its special events and festivals throughout the year. The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival offers a chance to indulge in incredible dishes from around the world. There are SO many reasons that EPCOT is worth it! EPCOT is a park with nostalgia, cultural immersion, amazing rides, delicious food, and incredible entertainment.

✅ Feeling of Nostaliga

A topiary of Mickey Mouse as a cheerful conductor, with outstretched arms, stands among other character-shaped topiaries and a lush bed of multicolored flowers in front of Epcot's iconic sphere.

EPCOT has a way of evoking feelings of nostalgia for many visitors.

Did you know that EPCOT opened in 1982 and was Walt Disney World’s second park? For those who visited EPCOT in their childhood, stepping foot into the park can be like a trip down memory lane.

The iconic sights and sounds of EPCOT, such as the architecture, the familiar attractions like Spaceship Earth and The Land, and even the classic tunes that play in the background, can transport you back in time.

✅ Travel Around the World & Experience Other Cultures

The World Showcase itself makes a trip to EPCOT totally worth it! And the World Showcase is exactly why I love EPCOT so much!

If you are a lover of travel and of learning about other countries and cultures, then visiting EPCOT is a must!

Walking through the pavilions, you’ll encounter authentic architecture, performances, and exhibits. These pavilions include Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, the United States, Japan, Morocco, France, the United Kingdom, and Canada. There is also an African Outpost.

It’s like a cultural adventure, allowing you to explore different corners of the world in a single park.

And don’t think for a second that this might be boring for kids. All of my kids have always loved the World Showcase and they each have their favorite country to visit!

Also, to entertain the younger kids in the World Showcase, let them take part in the Kidcot Fun Stops. In each country, your child can collect an activity card with features fun facts and traditions of each country.

The World Showcase is also known for its dining options, offering a wide range of international cuisines. From delicious pizza and pasta in Italy to mouthwatering bratwurst in Germany, you can indulge in diverse culinary delights.

Also, the shopping opportunities in each pavilion allow you to find unique souvenirs, artwork, and traditional merchandise from different countries.

✅ Amazing Rides & Attractions

When it comes to EPCOT’s rides, it’s important to note that the park’s primary focus is not solely on thrill rides like you might find in other Disney theme parks.

However, EPCOT has some pretty amazing must-do rides and attractions! The following are a few of the amazing attractions that EPCOT has!

Test Track

In EPCOT’s World Discovery, you’ll find the incredible ride Test Track.

This is one of my favorite rides in EPCOT! This thrilling ride allows you to design your own virtual concept vehicle and then put it to the test on a high-speed outdoor track.

You’ll experience twists, turns, and acceleration as you race through various challenges. It’s a thrilling and interactive experience!

It’s a unique ride that spins, twists, and even goes backward. You join the Guardians on a mission to save a species from aliens. It’s an exciting and immersive experience that combines the fun of a roller coaster with your favorite beloved characters.

Another one of my favorite rides at EPCOT is Soarin’ which is located in The Land Pavilion.

Calling all space lovers, Mission: Space is the ride for you! Unless you’re claustrophobic like me, then do NOT do this ride!

Mission: SPACE offers two versions of the ride – Orange for a more intense ride and Green for a milder experience. You’ll become an astronaut and embark on a simulated space mission to Mars. It’s a realistic and thrilling adventure that simulates the sensation of blasting off into space.

Journey of Water Inspired by Moana

Journey of Water Inspired by Moana is EPCOT’s newest attraction. This is an outdoor exploration trail that’s fun for all ages!

On this fun outdoor adventure in EPCOT, you’ll be able to interact with water just like Moana did. But not only is this a fun attraction, it’s also educational. Kids and adults can learn all about the global water cycle here.

You might even have the chance to meet Moana herself at the entrance to the attraction.
